Teaching Studio
I offer private piano instruction out of my home studio in Kingston in the West-end neighbourhood of Reddendale.
I was trained through the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto (A.R.C.T. in Piano Performance) and teach various styles of music including classical, jazz, musical theatre and popular music. If you are interested in composing and recording your own music, I have the ability and the recording equipment to work on this with you.
About my teaching style and approach:
- My flexible teaching approach accommodates and honours the unique interests, goals and learning styles of my students
- I do my best to create a fun, comfortable and non-judgmental learning environment
- Students are able to choose pieces that they will enjoy playing and performing for others
- Students will develop not only their ability to learn new repertoire, but also their musicianship and creativity
- I instil in my students the belief that they will master skills through focused effort, consistent practice and by receiving regular feedback
